Participants in the PreCardix® bioactive marine peptides clinical trial were unmedicated, healthy males and females with mild-moderately elevated baseline blood pressure (blood pressure <160/100 mmHg), aged 30-75.
To better control for other variables, only untreated, healthy participants with no other pre-existing conditions / co-morbities were included in the clinical trial. This is very common in well-designed clinical trials.
